The Latest and Greatest In Technology

Exciting new gadgets and technology are being released and upgraded daily. Read on for some information about the latest and greatest in the world of technology.

iPhone fans everywhere have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of the iPhone 5, and it looks like we won’t have long to wait. Although Apple has not made an official announcement, there is an event planned for September 12 and most speculate that this sought-after new gadget will be announced at this event.

New features in the next generation iPhone are thought to include a slightly larger screen, NFC technology that would make it easier to make payments through phones, and a smaller dock connector.
There are also speculations that the “iPad Mini” may be unveiled on September 12. Many other tablet-makers are creating smaller versions of tablets, and Apple needs to keep up with the competition. And speaking of competition, Apple is now faced with a market of smart phones that are putting the iPhone to shame. Although the iPhone is still the most popular handset, Android’s numbers are growing and growing. The new Samsung Galaxy S III has sold over 10 million phones in just two months, and many consider it to be better than the current iPhone.
Microsoft just announced that the final code for the new Windows 8 operating systems was released to manufactures. It is expected to be available to consumers on October 26. Updated features in Windows 8 include better personalization of the Start screen, better safety features, multi-monitor support, and improvements to various apps. In fact, Windows 8 is opening the door for huge opportunities for app development. Best of all, Microsoft has announced a Windows Upgrade Offer, meaning that it will cost only around $15 for current Windows 7 users to upgrade to the new operating system.
Operating systems aren’t the only thing Microsoft is getting right these days. Microsoft just announced their brand new and really cool Wedge Touch Mouse and Wedge Touch Keyboard. Both of these products are cable-free, relying only on Bluetooth to connect. The keyboard comes with a cover that can be used as a tablet stand. The keyboard is compact but not cramped, and is equipped with keys specific to the new Windows 8 operating system. The Wedge Touch Mouse is another handy gadget that offers four-way touch scrolling. Its Bluetrack technology allows it to be used on essentially any surface.  These new gadgets are just one indication of the greater strides Microsoft is taking to improve its technology and designs.
